Connecting Corcovado
In June 2024 we donated and connected the San Pedrillo Park Station with Starlink Internet.
Reliable internet access enables park rangers and staff to communicate in real-time, improving coordination for patrolling, monitoring, and responding to incidents. In emergencies, such as poaching incidents, wildlife conflicts, or medical emergencies, having internet access facilitates faster response times and coordination with external agencies.
Beach Cleanups
Corcovado National Park and its surroundings faces the challenge of global plastic pollution washing onto its pristine beaches. Despite its isolation, ocean currents carry plastic waste from across the world to these shores, endangering the park's diverse marine and coastal ecosystems. This underscores the importance of local beach cleanups and global efforts to combat plastic pollution, as even the most secluded natural treasures are not immune to the impacts of human activity.
